Logitech G305 Review

The Logitech G305 mouse promises outstanding performance at a very aggressive price. We are therefore going to test it to see if it keeps the promises of the Swiss manufacturer. It is also available on Amazon for a more competitive price.

Getting to know the Logitech G305 mouse

Let’s start with unboxing first. In the box, we find the Logitech G305 mouse, an AA battery, a USB dongle for the wireless receiver, a USB extension for the wireless receiver and the user documents. The G305 mouse is available in 4 colours: White, blue, lilac and black.

It measures 11.6 x 6.2 x 3.8 centimeters for 99 grams . The mouse is compact and durable. You can take it everywhere by slipping it discreetly in your bag: the mouse is quite small. You can thus play with the mouse whether it is on a PC or a Mac. Left-handers weren’t forgotten by Logitech, because the mouse has an ambidextrous shape.

This mouse features a high sensitivity HERO (High-Efficiency Rated Optical) sensor and Lightspeed technology. The latter provides stable and faster wireless connectivity than most wired connections on the market. The mouse does not connect to the computer with a spare USB cable, but only through wired connectivity. An AA battery ensures the operation and autonomy of the mouse. In performance mode, the battery lasts approximately 250 hours and in endurance mode, the battery life is extended up to 9 months.

This 2 nd mode is to be used outside gaming (office automation or others). You can configure this mode through Logitech Video Game Assistant software. Don’t worry about the condition of the battery, a warning light is available to let you know when you need to replace it. Logitech’s Video Game Assistant software will also let you know when you run out of 15% battery life.

The Logitech G305 mouse has 6 fully programmable buttons. It does not integrate an RGB lighting system for more efficient autonomy. If you want a similar mouse with an RGB lighting system, you can choose the G203 Prodigy mouse. If you also want a good keyboard with an RGB system, you can go for the Logitech G915 Wireless Gaming Keyboard.

The latter costs 150$ on the manufacturer’s website. If you want a more exotic mouse, the Logitech MX Vertical Wireless Mouse will do the trick. For those who are fans of a keyboard with a directly integrated mouse, the Logitech K400 Plus keyboard will be your thing.

Configurations of the Logitech G305 mouse

The Logitech G305 Wireless Gamer mouse is equipped with the all-new generation of HERO sensor, successor to the PMW3366, this sensor offers sensitivity up to 12K DPI without filtering, acceleration or smoothing. This sensor is also present with the Logitech G603 Lightspeed mouse. This sensor offers 10 times better performance than the previous generation of the optical sensors.

This sensor is capable of accurately tracking an image at over 400 FPS. It supports a speed of 10.16 m / s and an acceleration of 40 g without losing reliability. As this is an optical sensor, it should not be used on shiny surfaces or glass. In such a case, only a laser sensor will be able to give complete satisfaction.

With the G305 Gamer mouse, you can save up to 5 DPI levels to the mouse’s built-in memory. They can be used directly via the DPI button of the mouse located at the top of the central wheel. The 2 right and left buttons of the G305 mouse are very robust and support up to 10 million clicks each. These 2 buttons use a mechanical button tension system ensuring excellent uniformity between the two.

This reduces the force required to activate them and the clicks are crisp and smudge-free. This guarantees intense and winning moments of play. In addition, more mice still guarantee 20 million or even 50 million clicks.

As for the dial, it is rubber with a good textured coating. The notches are well felt and offer clear precision during gaming sessions. Scrolling is silent and the click is clear. The AA battery is housed under the central cover. Small

The G305 Gamer boasts Lightspeed technology. It is a technology developed by the engineering of Logitech to face the various difficulties of implementing wireless technology. It is a robust wireless connection and nothing has been left to chance in order to provide the highest performance (sensor, antenna, circuits, firmware etc.) The G305 mouse works only in Lightspeed and not in Bluetooth, on the contrary mouse Logitech G603 Lightspeed has both means of wireless connectivity.

The manufacturer offers a warranty period of 2 years, a guarantee of durability and performance. The mouse incorporates a reliable 32-bit microprocessor with ARM architecture.

housing is also used to store the USB receiver: practical enough not to lose this small receiver.

The Assistant software for Logitech gaming offers an advanced mouse Logitech G305 Gamer wireless setup. With the latter, you can assign functions to these 6 buttons. You can also change power mode with this software, switching from performance to endurance mode and vice versa.
