The Logitech MX Master 3 Advanced Wireless Mouse comes in a sleek, compact design. It measures 8.4 x 12.5 x 5.1 centimeters (L x W x H) for 141 grams. This mouse has been designed to conform to the shape of your palm. It adapts perfectly to the natural position of your wrist so that you can work for as long as possible without suffering from particular pain. On the left side, the mouse adopts a small hollow to accommodate the thumb. It is the same on the right side to support the ring finger and the little finger.

The Logitech MX Master 3 Advanced lets you work or play with surgical precision. You can stop at 1 pixel of your screen. Roulette has also been completely reinvented to be very fast. You can scroll 1000 lines in 1 second. It is equipped with an electromagnetic Magspeed mechanism that simulates the scrolling notch. It is quiet and perfectly pleasant.

The mouse has a chargeable 500mA Li-Po battery. When fully charged, you will have an autonomy of 70 days. The battery can also work for up to 3 hours after just 1 minute of charging with fast charging via the USB-C cable.

Software Options for optimal use

The mouse works directly without any driver or additional software. However, you can download the Options software from the Logitech website for more refined configurations.

The software directly detects different applications and allows you to choose pre-configured profiles adapted for each software (Word, Photoshop, Excel…) Once the software is installed, you can adjust the settings and define personalized actions on each button. The Flow tab of the software is used in case you want to use the same mouse on different devices. You can, among other things, copy and paste from one device to another.

The mouse can control several computers at the same time. Just move your cursor to the edge of another’s screen to switch to the other device. This is possible even with different operating systems (OS later than Windows 8, Windows 10, macOS 10.13, iPadOS 13.1 or Linux).

The Logitech MX Master 3 Advanced mouse has various buttons. The scroll wheel is intuitive, automatically switching from line-by-line to free-scrolling when needed. The Smartshift system detects the desired fast scrolling and frees the roulette wheel to scroll at 1000 lines per second. The mode alternation button allows scrolling mode to be switched (notched line by line/free) if necessary. This wheel also allows you to open a link in a new tab or to have a panoramic view.

The thumbwheel allows for horizontal scrolling. It allows you, among other things, to move from one tab to another or to adjust your brush size in drawing mode. Below this dial, you will have 2 buttons that allow you to cancel or redo an action. They are also used to do Next or Previous. The Logitech MX Master 3 has a special button: the gesture button. To use it, you have to hold down the button and then move the mouse.

Under the mouse, you will find the power button and a button to use the mouse for up to 3 devices.

Comparison with similar mice

Let’s compare this Logitech MX Master 3 mouse to the other 2 Logitech MX Anywhere 3 and M720 Triathlon mice. On the price side, the MX Master 3 is slightly more expensive but it is equipped with features that its 2 sisters do not. Only the MX Master 3 has, for example, the thumbwheel which allows, among other things, horizontal scrolling.

As for the scrolling system, the MX Master 3 and MX Anywhere 3 come with MagSpeed ​​and Smarshift systems. The M720 Triathlon uses a classic notched scroll system. The first 2 both have a 4000 dpi sensor as well as a tracking system on any surface such as glass. All 3 nevertheless have the Flow system allowing them to be used up to 3 devices at the same time.

On the power side, the MX Master 3 and MX Anywhere 3 are equipped with a lithium battery that can be charged via a USB cable. These 2 mice have a battery life of 70 days when fully charged. The M720 Triathlon is equipped with an AA battery for an autonomy of about 2 years. These 3 mice can connect to the device to be used via Bluetooth connectivity or a Unifying dongle.

The MX Master 3 is available in Graphite or Gray. The MX Anywhere 3 can be purchased in Light Gray, Pink or Graphite. As for the M720 Triathlon, it is only sold in black.
