Mountain Makalu 67
What makes the Makalu 67 mouse different?
The design of the Makalu 67 mouse has been well thought out by Mountain to adapt to the real needs of gamers. After a few minutes of use, you will have the impression of being one with the mouse. The mouse is very light, only 67 g. The wired connectivity is made of a flexible material allowing handling to be easy as if it were a wireless mouse. The mouse has a PixArt PAW3370 sensor.
This allows it to reach a sensitivity level of 19,000 DPI. It uses Omron 50m switches which are known to be tough and durable. No need to press the buttons very hard. Indeed, light pressure is enough to activate the buttons and the scroll wheel. In addition, the sensitivity can be adjusted via a central button on the mouse. 5 sensitivity levels are available for this purpose: 400, 800, 1200, 2000, and 19000 DPI. The sliding frame is made of PTFE, which allows ideal movement on any type of surface.
Advanced Mouse Features with Base Camp
The mouse can work directly without an additional driver. However, installing software such as Base Camp allows you to have more functionalities. This software provides more options compared to other mice and keyboard management software such as Angle Snapping or Logitech G Hub. Although Base Camp does not allow users to view telemetry data in real-time, it has more features than other software.
From Base Camp, you can customize the RGB lights. There are predefined settings that you can directly use such as Color Wave, Breathing, Static. But you can also create your own configuration according to your preferences. You will have the choice between the 16.7 million colors offered. This software also allows you to assign the 6 buttons to specific functions: open a browser, manipulate macros, open specific software, combine keystrokes, etc.
At the Base Camp level, you can use the advanced settings in the “Parameters” tab. You can modify the sensitivity level there as well as the scrolling speed of the cursor. The double-click speed can be customized. You can also use a cool mouse feature called Angle Snapping.
The latter makes it possible to create perfect geometric figures (straight line, circle, etc.) Indeed, the mouse can either transmit all the movements of the hand with a high sensitivity or ignore small variations in order to draw perfect geometric objects. Other settings can also be adjusted such as button press transmit latency, transmit frequency, lift distance and many more.
